ManyBirds Home TIPS: Click "MOV" and wait about 2 minutes (40 if dial-up) for playback by QuickTime software, whose controls (or keyboard arrow keys) can advance single frames of wing beats.  The faster-downloading "WMV" clips are half-width & height, with much-reduced quality (15 frames per second, not 30).  Other formats are described below.

To play the MP4 and M4V clips, you may need to upgrade to QuickTime 7, which requires a fast computer.  MP4 clips download 2x faster than MOV clips and look as good or better (h.264 technology).  M4V clips play on the Video iPod.  Windows users: If QuickTime is missing from Start > Settings > Control Panel, visit Apple Computer, Inc.  Like the WMV clips, the RM clips are small and only 15 fps.  The Windows Media Player plays WMV files and is available for Macs from Microsoft Corporation.  The Real Player plays RM files and is available for Macs and Windows from RealNetworks, Inc.  Explore the Internet for other video players.
