+ TIPS for watching these video clips...
  •     Use high-speed Internet (such as DSL or Cable).
  •     Time-links play the clips.
  •     Each time-link has 2 parts.
  •     Time-links with an "S" play slow-motion clips.
+ The left part of a time-link opens the Internet Bird Collection...
  •     The IBC first plays in a small view, so click the view's enlarge button.
  •     Exit the IBC window by clicking your browser's Back button.
+ The right part of any time-link retrieves an MPEG clip...
  •     Clicking the right-portion plays the clip, but maybe not.
  •     Avoid headaches by saving the MPEG clip...
  •     Right-click (PCs) or Option-click (Macs) the link to save the file.
  •     Find and double-click the file to play it.
  •     QuickTime, Windows Media Player, or other player may play the clips.
  •     These MPEG clips were created with high quality compression.
+ More about media players...
  •     Your browser chooses a media player or a plug-in to play the clip.
  •     Windows Media Player may play the clip in a new window
  •     If a big "Q" appears, QuickTime will play the clip in the browser window
  •     Or you may be asked to choose a player or destination for saving
  •     If time is not indicated, try waiting 5 minutes.
+ If QuickTime fails to play the clip...
  •     When the progress bar finishes, try double-clicking the picture to play the video or replay it.
  •     You may not see a progress bar if the video is too large for your display.
  •     If progress bar doesn't appear, wait 2-5 minutes before double-clicking the picture.
  •     you can still play the movie by double-clicking or by hitting the space bar,
  •     The arrow keys won't function if the clip hasn't played once.
+ If QuickTime software opened its own window...
  •     you have more functionality than the QuickTime browser plug-in.
  •     From the View menu, you can choose Fit to Screen (or try the other options).
  •     The right and left arrow keys will advance single frames.
+ If Windows Media Player (WMP) fails to play the clip...
  •     High-definition clips may not be displayed at the full width & height,
  •     even if you choose Original Size from the View menu. Try dragging the window larger.
  •     The following instructions let you advance one frame at a time:
  •     Only Windows Media Player 9 and better has single-frame advance functionality.
  •     Click "View" in the toolbar > Enhancements or Settings > Show Enhancements or Settings > Play Speed Setting.
  •     The Back button may not function, especially on Macs.
  •     If you click the "step forward" icon, try pressing the enter key.
  •     For lots more tips, visit the WMP, Video, and MPEG sections in WMP mini FAQ.
  •     Some basic functionality, like frame advance, is answered near the bottom of that page.
+ To make WMP advance frames (rather difficult)...
  •     Only Windows Media Player 9 and newer has single-frame advance functionality.
+ To make QuickTime open clips on PCs for EASY frame advance...
  •     (QuickTime is the default player on Macs and available for PCs.)
  •     look for the QuickTime Control Panel to see if QuickTime already installed...
  •     The Control Panel can be accessed from the Start menu in Windows 2000, NT, XP (Vista? 7?)
  •     PC users visit the QuickTime Control Panel to set QuickTime to play MPEG clips.
  •     You can also modify your browser's Preferences to have QuickTime play MPEG clips.
  •     If the QuickTime Control Panel is absent, QuickTime is free from Apple.com .
  •     You can de-install iTunes after the QuickTime installation using the Install/Deinstall Control Panel.
